Golden IPA: before & after fermentation
After a brief hiatus during which we've been brewing some old favorites (Moulin Rouge, Diamond Dog), the coming of spring has awakened a host of new ideas. Some are new recipe directions, some are just bad puns, but all deserve their moment in the fermenter.

Right now there's something brewing that I'm calling a Golden IPA. It's been fun to watch it as it travels through the brewing process—in the above picture, on the right, you see the wort as it was prior to pitching the yeast; on the left, the beer after a week of dry-hopping and fermentation. We'll bottle it in a week after dosing with some El Dorado essence just to take it over the top.

Check below for the details on Thunderbolt City, our blueberry-basil oatmeal stout. As for the future: could there be a Baltic Porter? Could there be a Trippel? Could there be a gruited Kolsch? Yes, yes, and yes—but wait your turn, first I've got a trip to Germany to which to attend.
